Prayer is Important

As you pray about becoming a church liaison for a pregnancy center, remember that you are likely going to be under attack from demonic spirits. Step one: learn to pray against demons that are attacking you.

Listen to this video about effective prayer:

The old saying: Prayer changes things is true. It is recommended that you never start any volunteer work as a Christian without first praying for God to bring the people you are to serve.

Remember, unless God builds the house, it is built in vain

Few church members will come right out and ask for help. If you advertise a recovery support group planned at the center, a few may sign up. Many more will sign up or ask about the support group if you are able to introduce someone from the center, (like the Director) to your Pastor’s wife.

Pray for guidance, wisdom, and knowledge. Pray yourself out of the way so that God’s Holy Spirit can freely move through you. As a volunteer serving iside your home church, you will need to know about the pregnancy center’s services so that you can spread the message to your church friends and aquaintances. You may even work promote the Earn While You Learn program or the after-abortion recovery program. No matter what you do as the church liaison volunteer, pray to be led by the Holy Spirit and always pray first. This will help you know who to talk to and what to say.

Learn this vitally important lesson: you are not superman, neither are you, Jesus Christ. You are His ambassador where you serve.

Take heed to the lesson the Sons of Sceva learned in the Bible. You alone, do not know what to say. There is nothing you can learn, there is no course to take to prepare you for the depth of pain you will see or the fear you will encounter among the members of your church.

When the Holy Spirit begins to speak you will not even remember what you said. But what you say will be powerful, effective, and will cut like a knife between soul and spirit. PRAY!

Establish an intercessory prayer team of dedicated people among your church members who understand the importance of active prayer. Have them pray for you, the pregnancy center director. Have them pray for each of the individuals leading the center.

Intercession is fervent “offensive” prayer. Intercession is not a “bless me” prayer. Intercession is a dedicated prayer of protection for someone, a prayer of action against the enemy of life. Do you feel called to such a life of prayer?
